I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

For the sixth time, James travelled to Queensland to work for ITV Studios and Shutterstock Editorial on ITV’s biggest show of the year. Providing unit stills for I’m A Celeb is a big job, which starts with photographing the celebrities as they arrive at Brisbane Airport.

Once all the celebs have arrived in Australia, James headed to the jungle to capture a series of photos of the iconic campsite to accompany the tsunami of publicity the show gets from the UK media.

Celebrity Portraits and Bushtucker Trial Photographs

Then, starting with walk in episode, where the celebrities meet for the time, James shot portraits of Ant & Dec and the celebrities for media use. For the rest of the series, his role was to photograph the daily trials and challenges, providing high quality episodic images for approval and distribution every day ahead of the new episode airing.

Live Picture Transmission for Media Outlets

Once the evictions begin, James’ role again takes on a new dynamic. Filing live images from the studio floor whilst the show is on-air of the evicted campmate, back to Christian Barrett of Shutterstock who received them in the UK, captioned, and edited them before sending them live for media distribution. This meant that before the show was off-air, ITV’s social media team and news outlets could use high quality photographs rather than having to resort to screengrabs.

In addition to his role working shooting unit stills, James’ final role was to also capture portraits of the celebrities once they arrived back at the Marriott Hotel showing their return to a more glamorous way of life.
