When Taylor Swift came to Australia, the country stopped and listened.

Publishd photographer James Gourley was on hand at Accor Stadium to document the first night of her 4 night Sydney residency, overseeing the biggest show Stadium Australia has seen since the 2000 Olympics. We were shooting editorially for international media distribution through our partner network.

Pre-Production and live delivery

In order to ensure he had the right equipment and captured the perfect moments out of the time limited opportunity (editorial live music photography opportunities are usually limited to the first three songs of a performance), James researched Taylor’s meticulously choreographed set to identify the key moments to capture in the first songs.

Upon checking in at the stadium, and after waiting for a lightning storm to pass over (which unfortunately meant the cancellation of Sabrina Carpenter’s support slot), he was guided through past the 80,000 fans to the pit of the massive stage set to capture the most anticipated gig of the year.

After shooting the first three songs of the gig, we edited and delivered the photos on-site for global distribution before the show finished, delivering hundreds of images for editorial clients around the world.

We offer the same media distribution for every event - If you want an extra push to get your photos out to the world’s media, we can help.

Whilst shooting a show like this might not be an every day occurrence for us, it is not one that fazes any of our photographers. We use our years of history in editorial and commercial photography to adapt to any event, big or small, meaning that we bring the same skills and commitment to every job we do.

If you’re planning an event and looking for expert coverage without the bad blood, reach out and see what we can do.
